"Superb"
Friendly people, bar and comedy club in lobby, right in a cool neighborhood. Reminded me of living in San Francisco. If youre looking for a five star hotel, this isnt it, but if youre looking for a quaint experience, it is!

This was very close to where I was attending meetings for the weekend. And terrific value for that area. It doesnt claim to be more than what it is, which is a three star property.

Free "Night cap" open mic comedy show in the basement. Bartender Jose was AMAZING. Quirky cute old hotel with old timey elevator and lots of vintage art.

The location is great. It's close from two metro stations, The Dupont Circle, bars and stores like CVS and Whole Foods. Great LGBTQ+ location as well! The hotel has a tavern on property, downstairs in the entrance. It's also LGBTQ+ Friendly and there's a gay bar right on the same block! I also really like the decoration and the fact that there's comfy chairs and various books around the hotel. The rooms are also pretty decent, not too small, no bugs (as far as I noticed), pretty clean and well maintained.

1. The location was close to Dupont Circle and nearby bistros, and eating houses. 2. Although the room was small, it was adequate, clean and the bed was fairly comfortable. 3 Our room (402) had recently been refurbished

If you are looking for the Hyatt or Marriott, this isn't it. But if you are looking for good value for your money, I can absolutely recommend the Baron Hotel. The room is clean, the staff is friendly, and everything works. My room was quiet. The bed was comfortable. It's a 7 minute walk to the DuPont Circle Metro. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance. If I had to guess the age of the property I would say 1880 - 1890. The plumbing/electric/ HVAC is all updated, but the turn of the century esthetic remains. The Otis elevator is unique with manually operated double doors that are quite heavy, so be prepared.
